A picture is worth a thousand words: 05/06/16

This week has seen Kai hit a few new milestones and he most definitely is now on the move.

A spontaneous trip to Legoland last week saw him mastering the wave. Ok so it was at his own reflection and he hasn’t done it since, but still (totally counts as hitting a milestone)

He’s started off with a dragging his legs type of crawl that I like to call “The Walking Dead” and has progressed to the “commando crawl” and my lord is he fast. I can’t plonk him down now surrounded by toys, as soon as my back is turned he is off.

In a bid to have the best pincer grip in Babytown he has been at it morning noon and night picking up any little speck of dirt or fluff off the carpet floor. Honestly, the stuff I’ve had to fish out of his mouth. Its a phase I certainly will not miss.

Which leads me on to my next point, Kai likes to put things in his mouth, like EVERYTHING including Max’s toys, glasses or random stuff like the metal at the bottom of the stair gate. I worry all the time about him choking on one of the elder’s small toys, it’s one of my biggest parenting fears right now.

We’ve had a few coherent words but nothing I want to call a “first word ” just yet. If I had to choose it would probably be “Dada” he does say that quite often and normally when he is looking at or wanting Dans attention. Were convinced he calls Max as awell, although thats more luike “Ma”

The poor pickle has been seriously suffering from teething, right now we have a mixture of high temp, snot, dribble and tears. Max hates seeing his baby bro upset and loves nothing more than stroking Kai’s head and telling him “It’s alright Kaise”

I don’t think it will be long before he’s walking, he is already very confident on his feet. I’d say this will likely happen before his first birthday in 8 weeks.

What a beautiful little boy, so precious. I remember the ‘walking dead’ weird crawl thing very well now that you reminded me! My youngest how is now 6, used to do a great one. He never properly crawled actually – did that slug thing for months on end then started walking! Beautiful photos x #postsfromtheheart

Beautiful pictures. That’s so exciting that he is babbling and waving. I hope the teething situation improves soon. #PostsFromTheHeart

He is so cute! 🙂 That stage when they start moving is a difficult one – you can’t really look away or get much done, because then they’re crawling off on a little adventure! 😀 #PostsFromTheHeart
